Summary of Abuse Allegations Against Fr. Ronald Mardaga:
Fr. Ronald Mardaga is one of the 156 priests identified by the Maryland Attorney General as having been accused of sexually abusing minors during their tenure with the Archdiocese of Baltimore.
According to the Attorney General’s report, a man reported in 1986 that he had been sexually abused by Fr. Mardaga in 1975 or 1976, when the victim was 13 or 14 years old. Fr. Mardaga was studying at St. Mary’s Seminary and was serving as a seminarian at Our Lady of Good Counsel in Baltimore. Fr. Mardaga began to sexual and physically abuse the victim, leaving psychological and physical scars.
Following this report, Fr. Mardaga admitted to the abuse.
According to the Attorney General’s report, Fr. Mardaga was removed from his assignment and had his faculties suspended in 1986.
Fr. Mardaga’s name appears on the Archdiocese of Baltimore’s list of priests credibly accused of sexual misconduct with a minor.
