Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations:

Msgr. William McCrory was one of the 156 priests identified by the Maryland Attorney General as having been accused of sexually abusing minors during their tenure with the Archdiocese of Baltimore.

According to the Attorney General’s report, a woman reported in 2019 that she was sexually abused by Msgr. McCrory when she was between 7 and 9 years old. Msgr. McCrory was assigned to St. Francis of Assisi in Brunswick and maintained responsibilities at St. Mary’s in Petersville. Msgr. McCrory befriended the victim’s family and began frequently dining with them. Msgr. McCrory began paying extra attention to the victim and making her sit on his lap. Msgr. McCrory then sexually abused the victim on several occasions. The victim believes that Msgr. McCrory bribed her when she was older to not report the abuse.

Msgr. McCrory’s name does not appear on the Archdiocese of Baltimore’s list of priests credibly accused of sexual misconduct involving a minor during their tenure with the Archdiocese of Baltimore.

According to the media reports, Msgr. McCrory died in 1993.
