Cleveland Clinic Employee Jeremy Ciocon Arrested for Filming Patients and Co-Workers in Bathroom

On January 5, 2024, Jeremy Ciocon was arrested at a prominent South Florida hospital for recording multiple women using the bathroom facilities. Ciocon, age 31, was a medical assistant in the urology department at the Cleveland Clinic in Weston, Florida, and now faces charges of video voyeurism.  Four videos recorded in December 2023 and January 2024 were obtained.  The women in the videos include both co-workers and hospital patients.

According to the arrest affidavit, a coworker found a cell phone in the bathroom on a cart concealed behind a box of gloves and noticed it was pointing directly at the toilet she was using. She picked up the phone and saw it was actively recording. She stopped the tape and watched the footage, which showed her undressing and using the toilet. The report states that the woman brought the iPhone to a security officer and reported the incident.  The security team reviewed the footage and confirmed they found two iPhones and multiple victims recorded using the bathroom. They contacted law enforcement who placed Ciocon under arrest.

Jeremy Ciocon reportedly admitted to law enforcement that he recorded the women and that it was his phone. The arrest report says Ciocon told law enforcement that he made the recording for his own sexual arousal and gratification. Ciocon later pleaded not guilty to four criminal charges of video voyeurism in Broward County. According to media reports, multiple female victims were depicted on the video using the restroom, unaware of the recording, and exposing their bodies. Ciocon reportedly told law enforcement he made the recording for his own sexual arousal and gratification.

A spokesperson for Cleveland Clinic Florida said that Ciocon has been fired from his position and released the following statement:

"We are strongly committed to protecting the rights and safety of our patients, visitors, and caregivers from any type of inappropriate behavior. Once we were notified of the situation, this employee was immediately removed, and the authorities were contacted," the statement read. "We are fully cooperating with law enforcement's investigation and are also conducting our own internal review. We care deeply about patient and caregiver safety, and any form of misconduct is not tolerated."

Ciocon was given a $4,000 bond by a Broward County judge, which he has since posted, and was ordered not to return to the hospital.  Prior to his arrest, Ciocon worked at the Cleveland Clinic for approximately one year.

Jeremy Ciocon's father, Jeremy Ciocon, was a Weston, Florida doctor convicted in 2017 by a Broward County jury of sexual battery of a 19-year-old woman.  He relinquished his medical license in 2019.

Finding the right medical provider and therapist can be challenging. We seek out seasoned professionals with good bedside manners, compassion, and empathy. When we finally decide on one, we hope to feel better over time and not be violated by the very person we trust. Healthcare providers hold a position of power in the physician-patient relationship under Florida law.  It is both unacceptable and unlawful for a healthcare professional to engage in any sexual misconduct in the workplace. Ciocon's alleged actions toward his patients and co-workers, if proven, tend to show that he does not have the judgment or moral character to hold a position of power or trust. Ciocon allegedly violated his professional responsibilities when he repeatedly recorded multiple women without their consent for his own sexual pleasure.

Horowitz Law has filed numerous sexual misconduct claims against medical professionals on behalf of patients.  Under no circumstances is a doctor, nurse or other healthcare provider permitted to have sexual contact with a patient or record a patient without their consent.  If you have been a victim of sexual misconduct, sexual assault or sexual battery at a medical office or facility, or if you know someone who has, please contact our law firm at 888-283-9922 or send an e-mail to sexual abuse lawyer Adam Horowitz at adam@adamhorowitzlaw.com for a free consultation.
