Fr. Charles V. Bradley – Diocese of Paterson

Father Charles V. Bradley

Diocese of Paterson

Ordained: 1968

Removed: 1995

Assigned as follows:

  • St. John Cathedral (Paterson, NJ)
  • Neumann House (Wayne, NJ)
  • Paterson Catholic High School (Paterson, NJ)
  • Bayley-Ellard High School (Madison, NJ)
  • Our Lady of Consolation (Wayne, NJ)
  • Faculty, DePaul Catholic High School (Wayne, NJ)

Summary of Abuse Allegations Against Fr. Charles Bradley:

According to media reports, Fr. Charles Bradley was accused of molestation of youngsters as early as 1981. The Diocese provided no information about the allegation made against Bradley, such as the age/gender of his victim or Bradley's assignment at the time of the abuse.

Bradley's name appears on the Diocese of Paterson's February 2019 list of credibly accused priests. According to Bishop Seratelli, the Diocese of Paterson, "has found that each of these persons [on the list] has been credibly accused of illegal sexual abuse involving minors. In the cases of several of the [priests], they were also convicted of a criminal offense. As to others on the list, the Diocese of Paterson received information concerning possible misconduct by the individual, investigated the matter for corroborating evidence, and determined that the report was credible. Accordingly, while those individuals may deny having engaged in illegal behavior involving a minor and they are entitled to be presumed innocent in a criminal court of law, the Diocese has determined that the information it received was credible and it has thus included their names on this disclosure".

In 1993, a Catholic Directory showed Bradley working at a Catholic High School.

In 1995, Bradley was removed from assignment and "has never again functioned as a priest" as per Bishop Rodimer. It is unclear if he has been laicized or if he remains a priest without faculties.

Bradley is still living and is believed to be residing in Georgia.
