On June 25, 2026, the Florida Department of Health issued an Emergency Suspension Order against the nursing licenses of Yordy Brito Aguila following allegations that he engaged in sexual misconduct involving a patient during a medical appointment at Primary Medical Physicians, located on Taft Street in Hollywood, Florida.

According to the Florida Department of Health, Brito Aguila has been a licensed registered nurse in Florida since 2009 and an advanced practice registered nurse since 2015. The Department immediately suspended both licenses after determining that his continued practice constituted an immediate and serious danger to the public.

Allegations Against Yordy Brito Aguila

According to the Department of Health’s Emergency Suspension Order, the allegations stem from a follow-up medical appointment involving a female patient on or about February 4, 2026.

Media reports state that authorities allege that:

  • The patient presented to Primary Medical Physicians for a follow-up appointment after suffering an ankle injury.
  • At the beginning of the appointment, Brito Aguila allegedly told the patient she was “beautiful” and that he wanted to “pamper and please” her.
  • After examining the patient’s ankle, Brito Aguila allegedly began caressing and massaging her foot under the guise of providing medical care.
  • The patient reportedly believed the manner in which Brito Aguila touched her foot was sexual in nature and made her uncomfortable.
  • Brito Aguila allegedly told the patient he needed to look into her eyes to check for an iron deficiency.
  • While standing close to the patient, Brito Aguila allegedly kissed her on the cheek.
  • The Department further alleges Brito Aguila attempted to kiss the patient on the mouth, but she pushed him away and rejected his advances.
  • According to the Emergency Suspension Order, Brito Aguila told the patient it was “fine” because the examination room door was closed and that he wanted to “please” her.
  • As the patient attempted to leave, Brito Aguila allegedly hugged her and again attempted to kiss her.
  • Two days later, Brito Aguila allegedly texted the patient asking whether she was okay.

Facts and Background

According to the Emergency Suspension Order:

  • Brito Aguila was employed by Primary Medical Physicians in Hollywood, Florida, at the time of the alleged incident.
  • The Department determined that Brito Aguila’s alleged comments, caressing of the patient’s foot, kissing her on the cheek, and repeated attempts to kiss her were outside the scope of the professional practice of nursing.
  • The patient reportedly left the medical office immediately after the incident and has not returned for treatment.
  • The Department concluded that Brito Aguila allegedly attempted to conceal his conduct because no receptionist or other staff members were present when the patient left the examination room.

Emergency Suspension of Licenses

The Florida Department of Health concluded that Brito Aguila willfully abused his position of power in order to make sexual advances toward a patient under his care who trusted him to act professionally and in her best interests.

State regulators further determined that his alleged conduct demonstrated a lack of good judgment and moral character necessary to safely practice as both a registered nurse and an advanced practice registered nurse.

According to the Emergency Suspension Order, Brito Aguila’s conduct was predatory in nature and demonstrated a blatant disregard for patient safety and comfort. The Department further concluded that his continued practice constitutes “an immediate and serious danger to the health, safety, or welfare of the public.”

As a result, the Department immediately suspended Brito Aguila’s registered nurse and advanced practice registered nurse licenses pending further disciplinary proceedings.

Nurses Occupy Positions of Trust

When patients seek medical care, they do so in a state of physical and emotional vulnerability. Registered nurses and advanced practice registered nurses are entrusted with providing medical care, administering treatment, and acting in their patients’ best interests.

Under Florida law, healthcare professionals may not exploit the professional relationship for personal or sexual purposes. Any sexual misconduct involving a patient is prohibited and constitutes a serious breach of professional ethics and patient trust.

It is unlawful, unethical, and a violation of professional duty for a nurse to use the nurse-patient relationship for personal gratification. Patients have the right to receive medical care in an environment that is safe, professional, and free from sexual misconduct.

The allegations against Yordy Brito Aguila describe an alleged abuse of the nurse-patient relationship involving a patient who sought legitimate medical care.
