Dr. Alfred Alingu, a physician in Hernando County, was arrested on March 14, 2017 on a battery charge. The arrest was made by the Hernando County Sheriff's Office in connection with a criminal case in which Dr. Alingu was charged with making unwanted sexual contact with a female patient at his office in Weeki Wachee in December 2015. According to public records, the alleged victim told law enforcement that Dr. Alingu groped her vaginal area, and said "If I weren't your doctor, you let me in here?"
This is not Dr. Alingu's first run-in with the law. In December 2011, Dr. Alingu was adjudicated guilty for Driving Under the Influence in Hernando County. He and the medical practice Arecho Medical Clinic LLC have also been named as Defendants in three civil lawsuits in which female patients allege that Dr. Alingu committed sexual misconduct. Dr. Alingu has offices in Weeki Wachee and Hudson, Florida. According to his website, Dr. Alingu practices Internal Medicine.
