Raoul Atkinson, a massage therapist, has permanently surrendered his license amid an investigation that he sexually assaulted female clients at Praha Spa and Salt in Naples, Florida. The Florida Board of Massage Therapy accepted the relinquishment of his license as discipline on January 20, 2026. Before surrendering his license, the Florida Department of Health was investigating allegations that Atkinson assaulted two women during separate massage appointments, the first of which was to alleged to have occurred in January 2023. Horowitz Law represent an alleged victim of sexual misconduct by Raoul Atkinson and is actively investigating reports of his abuse behavior.
Previously, on December 31, 2025, the Florida Department of Health issued an Emergency Order suspending the massage therapy license of Raoul Atkinson, L.M.T. In the Emergency Order, Florida Surgeon General Joseph Lapado proclaimed that "Mr. Atkinson’s continued practice of massage therapy constitutes an immediate danger to the health, safety, and welfare of the public."
Atkinson had been a licensed massage therapist in Florida since 2021 and has worked at Praha Spa and Salt in Naples, Florida. According to YELP, Atkinson also previously worked for or was affiliated with Mobile Magic Massage.
The allegations outlined by state regulators involve non-consensual sexual contact during massage appointments—conduct that is strictly prohibited under Florida law and professional licensing rules.
Allegations of Sexual Misconduct During Massage
According to the Department of Health’s Emergency Order, on November 29, 2025, a woman received a 90-minute massage performed by Atkinson while working at Praha Spa and Salt in Naples, Florida.
During the massage, Atkinson allegedly placed a towel over the client’s eyes. While massaging her legs, he is accused of moving his hand toward the client’s vaginal area and briefly penetrated her vagina. The client initially believed the contact may have been accidental due to the spill of massage oil. However, according to the Order, Atkinson allegedly digitally penetrated her a second time, indicating to the client that the conduct was intentional.
The Department further alleges that Atkinson then placed his mouth and/or tongue on the client’s vagina. The client told Atkinson, "No, stop," and removed the towel from her eyes. Atkinson reportedly backed away, apologized, and left the room. The woman told the Health Department that Atkinson went 20 minutes over the allotted time. The client later reported the incident to the Collier County Sheriff's Office.
Prior Administrative Complaints Involving Another Client
The December 2025 emergency suspension is not the first time Atkinson has faced misconduct complaints. The Florida Department of Health filed an Administrative Complaint against Atkinson in September 2023. That complaint involved a client who reported sexual misconduct during a massage at Praha Spa and Salt.
According to that complaint, during a massage session on or about January 26, 2023, Atkinson allegedly:
- removed the client’s draping without consent
- rubbed his forearm between the client's buttocks
- inserted fingers and a thumb into the client’s vagina multiple times
- placed his erect penis on the client’s hand and moved it back and forth
- ejaculated on the client
- attempted to kiss her when the client tried to stand up
- remained in the room while the client dressed
The Department alleged that this conduct was entirely outside the scope of accepted massage therapy practice and constituted sexual misconduct under Florida law.
Massage Therapists Occupy Positions of Trust
When clients schedule a massage, they do so to relax and relieve stress, trusting that licensed massage therapists are properly vetted and will act professionally, with integrity, and with respect for personal boundaries. Under Florida law, massage therapists occupy positions of trust, and any sexual contact with a client is strictly prohibited. A therapist may not use the therapist-client relationship to induce or attempt to induce a client to engage in sexual activity outside the accepted scope of practice or standards of treatment. Such conduct is unlawful, unethical, and a violation of professional duty, particularly because massage therapy takes place in private settings where clients are especially vulnerable.
The Florida Department of Health alleges that Raoul Atkinson willfully abused this position of trust by engaging in sexual misconduct with a client, conduct that the Department concluded demonstrates a lack of good judgment and moral character necessary to safely practice massage therapy. Based on these findings, the Department determined that Atkinson’s continued practice constituted an immediate, serious danger to the public, warranting the summary suspension of his license pending further disciplinary proceedings.
