Boynton Beach Massage Therapist Qui Vanh Voong Arrested For Sexual Battery

On August 5, 2021, Qui Vanh Voong, a Boynton Beach massage therapist, was arrested on sexual battery charges after a female client reported that he inappropriately touched and penetrated her during a 30-minute massage at Bao Foot Spa located at 1313 W. Boynton Beach Blvd.  Detectives are investigating other allegations of Voong inappropriately touching clients in a sexual manner, and they believe there may be additional victims.  According to public records Qui Vanh Voong was not licensed while working at Bao Foot Spa as required by Department of Health regulations in Florida.

Qui Vanh Voong, age 51, who also goes by the name "Juan", was booked into the Palm Beach County Jail Thursday afternoon. The bond was set at $50,000 with several conditions, including that he must not make any contact with the victim, nor can he work as a massage therapist while the case is pending.

According to the police report, a woman came into Bao Foot Spa for a 30-minute massage for massage. She reported that Voong touched the side of her breast and thereafter penetrated her with his fingers. The alleged victim stated that Voong massaged her lower back, then moved his hands forward further each time until he reached her groin area. She said after a few minutes, she felt the therapist move his hands all the way forward to her vagina and then insert two fingers inside her. The victim immediately told him 'no,' and then Voong replied with something along the lines of "if you don't like it, just tell me what you want."

The woman told the police she was shocked and scared. She asked Voong if the massage was over, but he continued to massage her until she could sit up, get dressed and walk out of the area. Investigators said Voong admits to the massage but that he did not sexually touch her.

When clients schedule a massage, it is to decompress from the stresses of life. They trust that the massage therapists employed at the spa are carefully vetted and safe to engage with the public. It is unacceptable, immoral, and unlawful for any employee to touch a client in a sexual manner.  Clients of massage therapists are placed in isolated, vulnerable settings where they can be subject to abuse by their massage therapists. Due to the potential for abuse that is inherent under those circumstances, massage therapists must possess good judgment and good moral character in order to safely practice massage therapy.
