On October 15, 2025, the Florida Department of Health, Board of Massage Therapy, filed an Emergency Suspension against massage therapist Ermane Alexandre's license in Boynton Beach, FL. The Order was issued after a report was made alleging sexual misconduct during a massage Alexandre performed while working at SamSam's BodyWork. Alexandre obtained his massage therapist license in Florida in July 2024.
According to the EO, on March 29, 2025, a 22-year-old female received a massage from Alexandre at his Boynton Beach studio, Samsam's Bodywork, located on East Ocean Ave. During the massage, Alexandre asked the client if she wanted to extend her session by 30 minutes, and she agreed. She was then asked to flip over to lie face-up with her body covered by a towel. At that time, Alexandre allegedly massaged the client's breasts under the towel, then moved the towel down, exposing her breasts. Alexandre moved his hands to the client's stomach and torso, and placed his hands in her underwear and rubbed her vaginal area. While rubbing her, Alexandre placed the other hand on the client's neck, pinning her down.
The female client told Alexandre to stop, and he replied with,
"bet you never had a massage like that before, have you?"
The client then got up, got dressed, and left the studio. She then contacted the local police department.
When clients schedule a massage, they do so to relax and relieve stress. They trust that licensed massage therapists are properly vetted and will act with professionalism and integrity.
Under Florida law, massage therapists occupy positions of trust, and any sexual contact with a client is strictly prohibited. A therapist may not use their professional relationship to induce or attempt to induce a client to engage in sexual activity outside the accepted scope of practice or standards of treatment.
It is unlawful, unethical, and a violation of professional duty for any therapist to touch a client sexually. Because massage therapy takes place in private settings where clients are particularly vulnerable, practitioners are expected to exercise sound judgment and uphold the highest standards of moral character. Therefore, the DOH suspended Alexandre's license to practice massage therapy in Florida, effective immediately.
